About
Let us not love in word or talk, but in deed and in truth.
Statement of Faith
We are committed to the following essential truths of biblical Christianity:
-
The Bible is the divine inspiration of God, the first person of the Trinity.
2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21, John 17:17
-
Jesus Christ is the unique Son of God, the second person of the Trinity. He is the image of the invisible God, and the firstborn over all creation.
John 1:1-3, Hebrews 1:1-8, Isaiah 7:14, Colossians 1:15
-
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, which fills us, empowers us, transforms us, and calls on us to put our faith into action.
Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Ephesians 5:13, 1 Peter 1:3, Romans 8:13, Ephesians 2:10
-
We affirm Jesus’ Miracles, His message and substitutionary death on Calvary’s cross. He bodily arose from the grave sits at the right hand of God, intercedes for His own and prepares all things for His visible, imminent return
1 Corinthians 15:1-7, Hebrews 1:3, Acts 1:10-11, John 14:3
-
Man is in the image of God and yet, through Adam has become captive to sin and death.
Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 5:12
-
Salvation only comes by grace, through faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:24-26, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:1-2
About
Mean Street Ministry is a non-profit Christian organization serving the working poor along West and East Colfax Avenue. We are dedicated to bringing the love of Christ to those who feel disconnected from family, community and God. We elevate the poor, heal the broken and provide a safe environment for lay Christians to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
History
Mean Street was born out of a desire to emulate Jesus. He spoke with, laid hands on, and loved the afflicted. He walked with the broken.
Mean Street strived to emulate that model by going to Denver’s poorest and most destitute, right where they lived. Immediately we saw results in the folks we were reaching out to, but it quickly became clear that they weren't the only ones God was changing.
We saw dramatic transformation in our volunteers as well. We realized that we were building an infrastructure for Christians to move from their comfort zone to front line ministry, bringing dramatic transformation and blessings into their lives. Through this perspective God has built our ministry.
