Average age of the homeless: 11 years old
The cost of living in Denver has skyrocketed in the past five years. As a result, our homeless population has also grown, but not just grown; it has also transformed. Now alongside the usual suspects of alcoholics, drug addicts, prostitutes, and the mentally ill are working families who simply cannot afford the cost of a safe place to live. Mean Street has always reached out to the people on the streets and as they have changed so have we. Our Sojourners program and Family Shelter, specifically, have grown out of this changing population to address their needs. Please consider donating to Mean Street so we can continue to reach out to the lost and hurting in the name of Christ.
